SELLING SHADE – 2025

“Selling Shade is a dark comedy set in Mallorca, where two real estate agents—Karen, a seasoned cynic, and Annabelle, an idealistic newcomer—struggle to sell an old, eerily quiet country house to their high-profile clients. But as an afternoon open house yields only failed deals, they discover there is more to the property than meets the eye. Hidden histories begin to surface, drawing both women into a quiet reckoning with the past and realisations about their own…”

 

Performed at the Porreres Auditorium and Palma Auditorium, “Selling Shade” is our biggest show yet. Written and produced by R.T. Kolbeinsson and directed by Andrea Helene,  and starring international professional talents: Emma Bernbach, Neus Cortés, Toni Pons, Jenny Whiffen, Clea Söderblom, Jason Lynch and Nayeli Far.

HAUNTED HISTORIES – 2025

‘Haunted Histories’ was a verbatim storytelling performance commissioned by the University of York, in collaboration with Haephaestus Theatre Company. Seven ghost stories collected through interviews from local York residents were anonymously recreated as a series of monologues, presented back to the public in two free events.

 

Performed at Rise @ Bluebird and York Explore library, York, we delivered two fully-booked, relaxed, and captioned performances with a post-show discussion. Starring a group of local actors, this project was directed and produced by Sam Armstrong.

 

THE LAMENT OF THE HART – 2025

‘Henry and his men have returned from the hunt of the mythical golden stag, revelling in their victory in the midst of a monstrous storm, when a strange woman arrives at the door seeking shelter and hospitality. Is the golden stag Henry’s final prize, or will his obsession drive him to offer much more than he can give?’

 

Collaboratively created and written by Skald Theatre Group over nine months, The Lament of a Hart was performed in a special evening show at Rise @ Bluebird, York, to a sold-out audience. Starring Nick Patrick Jones, Grace Stannard, Molly Raine, Wilf Tomlinson, Arty Swain, Jake Mansfield, and directed by Sam Armstrong, this production will return to tour the North East UK soon.

 

A RED CHRISTMAS – 2024

“A Red Christmas”,  was our second Christmas inspired small play festival of four original short plays that take a darkly comedic look at the most wonderful—and chaotic—time of the year. This collection delves into the messy underbelly of holiday traditions, fractured relationships, and seasonal absurdity.

 

The event played over two days during the 2024 Christmas season at Teatremól in Palma De Mallorca.

A HELPING HAND – 2024

“A Helping Hand” is a tense drama set in Spain in the early 1960’s which explores the relationship of a lady and her maid in a post war Spain. 

 

The play was first performed in Palma De Mallorca at Teatremól in 2024 during the fall season and sold out the two first performances. It then returned for three more shows in January and February. Starring Christina Giagos and Samantha Horn Guerra, and was written and directed by R. T. Kolbeinsson

The Bexhill Bookclub – 2024

“The Bexhill Bookclub which is having its weekly meeting to discuss a new
controversial book. It’s four members are united by their passion for reading,
though their different personalities and opinions have created a tense
atmosphere. Tonight’s meeting is to proceed like any other, but this week’s
literary piece causes quite the stir, prompting the four women to reveal more
than their critiques. Never judge a woman by her cover.”

 

The play was first performed in Palma De Mallorca at Teatremól in 2024 during the summer season. Starring Romy Bellamy, Jacs Campbell, Kathleen Bendelack and Judith Abindgon. Written and directed by R. T. Kolbeinsson. The show had five performances in total, selling out twice

 

THE BEXHILL BOOKCLUB POSTER

Völuspá: The Prophecy of The Seeress – 2023

“Every year, Othin visits the Völva, hoping she will tell him about the future. Today, she speaks, and prophecies about the end of the world, and the fate of the Gods.”

 

This one-woman show brought the Icelandic tale of Ragnarök to the old Jorvik at the Perky Peacock for the summer season of 2023, starring Margaux Campbell as the hypnotic Völva and directed by Sam Armstrong. The play was adapted and based on the translation of the poem by H. A. Bellows

Baby it’s Cold Inside – 2022

 

Our first ever show was a collection of four short Christmas plays which premiered in 2022 at the Perky Peacock in York. The theme of these plays centred around moody and dark winter nights with a touch of dark comedy. The plays were written by Sophie Schulze and R. T. Kolbeinsson.
